Terraced properties 'are popular buy-to-let investments'

Terraced properties are the most popular type of buy-to-let
investment because of their many advantages for landlords, it has
been claimed.
Editor of LandlordZONE Tom Entwistle explained that this type of
property generally has low maintenance costs and are inexpensive to
purchase, making them an ideal choice for people in the buy-to-let
sector.
"They produce a higher rental yield than you get with newer or
high-cost housing," Mr Entwistle added.
He also noted that they attract desirable tenants, such as young
professionals, working singles or couples.
"These are the tenants that give their landlords the least amount
of trouble," Mr Entwistle asserted.
On January 19th, Paragon Mortgages released research which supports
Mr Entwistle's statement.
According to the organisation, of the landlords who want to expand
their portfolios in the first quarter of 2010, 65 per cent stated
that they would purchase a terraced property.
Just 25 per cent opted for semi-detached houses, with 20 per cent
expressing an interest in flats and ten per cent claiming to be
considering detached properties.
