More families renting now than ever

There are now more families looking to rent homes than ever before,
according to one expert.
Daniel Cox, sales director at WMP, said that the traditional
lettings market demographic of young people and couples are being
caught up by families, which means landlords are now diversifying
their portfolios.
Families who are looking for
houses to rent in Brixton will be relieved to know that there
are now more private rental houses available, as the demand for
flats dies down and landlords switch direction.
Mr Cox said: "There is more of a demand for proper houses at the
moment than there is for flats. We have got quite a lot of families
on the books that are looking for places at the moment and
obviously a four or five member family is not going to fit in a
two-bedroom flat."
Earlier in this week, there was further good news for prospective
tenants, as the latest LSL Property Services figures showed that
the rate of increase in rent had slowed for the first time since
February.
