Live in the home of surfing

Sporting enthusiasts across the country may be looking to choose a
new location to live in, and might select where they live on
account of what a new location potentially offers them in terms of
their hobby.
For most surfing fans, this may involve a move to the south-east of
the country, with the Cornwall town of Newquay being seen as
perhaps the biggest surfing community in the country. However, one
place which may be less well known, while equally good for surfers,
is Hayling Island.
The island is located just off the coast of Hampshire, in the
borough of Havant, and is connected to mainland via a one-lane road
bridge between itself and the rest of the county, which gives
decent access to the likes of Portsmouth on the mainland.
One of the main draws to the island itself for those looking for
property for sale in Hayling Island will be the options it
will give those who are enthusiasts of watersports. While it may
not have the same size of surfing community as the likes of
Newquay, it does have a thriving windsurfing fraternity. It is also
widely accepted as being the home of windsurfing, due to the fact
that it was the very place where the sport was founded.
The island was the site of the 2010 World Laser Standard Senior and
Junior Championships for sailing, showing the pedigree that the
area has for water sports.
As well as its water sports enthusiasm though, Hayling Island also
offers a wide range of other options for sports enthusiasts. It has
a golf course which has been ranked as one of the top 100 in the
UK, as well as one of the widest ranging racquet sports clubs in
the country.
And for those who want to visit the mainland, be it for work or
pleasure, reaching it is very easy, either via the ferry which runs
fairly regularly, or on the popular road bridge from the north of
the island.
