Landlords prefer tenants without children
Many landlords hope to rent to childless couples without children,
according to a new poll.
The research by Intus Lettings shows 29 per cent of landlords
believe childless couples would be the perfect tenants, while just
one per cent favour letting their properties to students.
Other ideal candidates as tenants included single young
professionals, followed by families because they offer a possible

dependants due to the stability that it provides. They understand
that finding the right tenant can save them time, money and stress
in the long term and with the number of people renting continuing
to grow, they want to be reassured that those living in their
properties are reliable,’ said Hope McKendrick, lettings
manager at Intus Lettings.
Results from the latest English Housing Survey shows that 4.5
million households in the country are rented privately - 2.5
million more than in 2000.
