Confidence in the housing market continues to grow

The overall confidence in the housing market across the whole of the UK is continuing to gradually increase, a new survey has shown.

Statistics released by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (Rics) has shown that there are a greater number of people now headed towards estate agents with the intention of purchasing property for sale.

It said that while the number of new homes being brought onto the market is remaining fairly flat, there has been a steady rise in the number of people making enquiries each month since the summer.

It is thought that the slump seen during the warmer months was caused by the fact that many people were watching the Olympics rather than buying.

Peter Bolton King, Rics global residential director, said: "There is certainly some optimism creeping back into the housing market, and it is encouraging to see an increase in potential buyers across parts of the country where the market has particularly suffered in recent years."ADNFCR-1222-ID-801504521-ADNFCR
