Buy-to-let investors 'can benefit by concentrating on the detail'

Landlords have been advised to concentrate on the details of their
properties in order to attract the highest possible rental
income.
According to the National Landlords Association (NLA), finishing
touches and incentives can make a significant difference.
It suggested that not only should homes be in a good state of
repair, but they should also include bonuses such as garden
furniture and wireless broadband.
Additionally, buy-to-let investors should make sure they do not set
the price of their homes too high.
It can sometimes be worth accepting a lower rent in order to secure
new tenants, the organisation said.
Commenting on the issue, David Salusbury, chairman of the NLA -
which currently represents more than 19,000 members - noted that no
landlord likes void periods.
He went on to state: "As with many issues in the letting of
residential property, open and respectful channels of
communications between landlords and tenants will pay
dividends."
