Brits should 'know their limits' when attempting DIY

People attempting DIY would be best advised to know their "limits"
and ensure that they are prepared for the task in hand, according
to one home improvements expert.
Fiona Hodge, assistant editor at DIY Week, a fortnightly magazine
that provides a mix of news, features, opinion and background
information on the subject, said that attempting improvements such
as tiling a kitchen or bathroom over the bank holiday weekend is a
good idea - depending on how experienced the person is in making
such modifications.
Her comments follow the publication of a survey from
FindaProperty.com, which showed that while many people will just
paint or decorate their house, 68 per cent will attempt to rewire
electricals and 32 per cent will try to fit their own
kitchen.
"Certainly, over the bank holidays there is a rise in accidents
where people don't quite know what they are taking on," said Ms
Hodge.
